ABOUT ME
Kelly Annie
Oh hiiii! I’m Kelly. I am a photographer, jewelry maker, spin instructor, dog lover, cycling enthusiast, mom of 3 boys, adventure seeker, hiker, planner of parties, traveler, podcast host, lover of purple and friend to everyone if they will have me.
My super power is seeing beauty in everyone and everything. Honestly, it's just paying attention because it's everywhere.
I'm absolutely confident that I can help you feel comfortable in front of my camera and get photos that feel natural and look like YOU.
MY HISTORY WITH PHOTOGRAPHY
1990
I have always been that friend that takes pictures of everything. Stops too many times on road trips for photos and documents every special occasion (all occasions are special right?) When I was in high school, I used to paint the back of my bedroom door in different colors to do photo shoots with my friends.
1996
When I left college, I started working for a photographer in the dark room printing large prints and developing film. I kept a notebook with me all the time in which I wrote down ideas for photo projects, things I learned about lighting and posing and anything else I picked up pertaining to photography. I was obsessed.
2001
After I had been shooting for friends and family for a while, I decided to quit my job and jump into photography with both feet. I opened a little studio in Bountiful, UT which was basically one big space that served as shooting space, office, production and a place to meet with clients. That studio grew into a thriving business that supported my family for many years. I took a break for a few years to raise a family while the studio carried on.
2019
Now I am in the second act of my life and career. I am full of energy and creative ideas but also curiosity and am having so much fun doing outside the box personal projects and shooting all kinds of subjects. I recently realized something while photographing the interior of a home for a designer. That job was so satisfying because the whole time was asking myself "what is beautiful here?" It's the same when people are in front of my camera. The job is looking for beauty and capturing it. I can't think of a better way to spend my time.
